Jia Min's CCA during her times in Ngee Ann Polytechnic...
Dancing has always been one of Jia Min's passion, therefore she decided to join the NRA during her times in school. As a dance club, I learnt many different dance choreography genres and opportunities to perform on stage which make her feel more confident on stage (Open house, Productions, Art events<WOZ> and CCA Fair etc) and even had a chance for her to demonstrate leadership skill as being the "GL" for camp.
One main takeaway, was the opportunity to come up with a choreo with a junior to be taught for sharing classes, allowing me to experience teaching and even sharing dance knowledge learnt to my juniors.
Apart from NRA's events, she had a chance to complete in the world-famous dance competition known as "Super24" .

Korean Culture Club (KCC) Dance (KCCD)
Even though I am already in a dance club, I still wanted to do kpop dance cover as it was the beginning of my passion. I was giving with leadership roles as being the member who has dance experience, I was appointed to teach KPOP dance choreography to my group for a mini-kccd showcase production.

Rotaract Club - ITE CW
Rotaract Club was past known as interact club, I was appointed to take up the roles of a president. What I do in Rotaract Club:
- Organise the community project/events
- Continue building the rapport with an existing beneficiaries homes and orgisations
- Plan events for members and manage manpower
- Leading a team of 6 exco-members and 200 members,
i have to ensure than roles and peace is being implemented with the objective of treating each member fair and allow them to grow. The duties and responsibility of being a leader of a big club are new and exciting to me.
Example of events done by me, for instance, Blood Donation Drive, Bone Marrow Donor Programme, Community Involvement Programme - YMCA Silver Fiesta 2016/2017, Warriors Football Game and more... (examples will be shown below) This allows me to grow stronger not just in my leadership skills, but also people management skills, event organising skills, public relations skills and more.
Being in Rotaract Club, gave me opportunities to go for an overseas community trip, Youth Expedition Project (YEP) to Chiangmai Thailand for two weeks. The Objective of the trip is to build a female bathroom for the village children as the girls have been bathing in open with clothes on them to protect them which is quite an inconvenience, therefore we spend around 10days day and night working as a team in building the bathroom for them.
During the trip, it equips me with various skills such as leadership, teamwork, and preserve attitude. It makes me start to appreciate the life back in Singapore as they are not very developed yet. Apart from doing the construction, at night we will all gather together with the village kids and staff in their hall for culture exchange and playing and bonding with each other. I really enjoyed the experience as I felt the warmest of the children and I felt happy to be able to know them and do something for them. I learnt about their culture and their daily lifestyle and experience living in a rural environment. If given a chance I would wish to go back again.
As being the president, I also engage with others school, Rotaract Club's leaders in collaboration and even with the Rotary club around the world.

Jia Min's CCA during her times in Pioneer Secondary School...

During my 4 years entering Pioneer Table Tennis team, I have been representing Pioneer Secondary in competition, playing double or single competing for the various competition such as Zoner competition, a friendly match with several schools and even represents as a solo player. She has been on the school team for 4 years.
When entering secondary 3, I became the caption of Bgirls, whereby I not only manage the teams but also train them into growing stronger in CCA. As captain, I am the role model to my juniors and to others Table Tennis players out there whenever, we had a friendly match.
When there a friendly match or competition, the coach and I have to appoint member to play and to be reserve, it is a hard decision as I also need to build a strong rapport with them. One of my another duties also involve CCA Fair, where I would need to have enough manpower at the training place to guide the frieshies of the school to join.
